The Oriel Trio came together for the first time as the Oriel Trio in 2008 to perform Tavener’s Yeats Songs “To a Child Dancing in the Wind” with soprano Patricia Rosario at the Louth Contemporary Music Society Tavener Temenos Festival.
Flautist Vourneen Ryan held the position of sub-principal flute with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra from 2004-2007 and now freelances regularly with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, BBC Philharmonic, RTÉ Concert Orchestra, Northern Sinfonia and Scottish Ballet. Vourneen has given many recitals at home and abroad including chamber music recitals with Merchant Winds quintet and Fusion wind quintet.
Cian Ó Dúill is a member of both the Irish Chamber Orchestra and the London Mozart Players. He is a founder member of the Regent String Quartet and Rothko String Trio and is a member of the Chamber Players, a London based string sextet with whom he has recorded music by Mozart and Brahms. Concerto appearances include works by Bach, Telemann, Mozart, Bruch and Hindemith in Ireland, the UK and Spain.
Clíona Doris combines performances as a soloist and chamber musician with her role as Head of DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama, Dublin. Her CD recordings include two solo CDs: a pale yellow sky (RTÉ lyricfm), in blue sea or sky (Riverrun Records) and a performance of Handel’s Harp Concerto with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra.
