platformireland.ie, Ireland’s only dedicated arts venue, are offering the chance to watch the opening night of Wagner’s Tristan und Isolde from the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre, Dublin.

Whether you are a fan of opera or simply want to see what all the fuss is about, platformireland.ie will re-stream the hugely successful opening night of the Wide Open Opera production of Wagner’s Tristan und Isolde to national and international audiences due to popular demand.

Available to view across all platforms, you can choose to watch this epic Irish love story from your own home with friends, on top of a bus or from any part of the world on the night for free until Monday 12th November 2012.

Tristan und Isolde is an epic Irish love story which is regarded by many as ‘the greatest operatic achievement of all time’. The five hour performance on platformireland.ie also features exclusive interviews with singers, audience members and participants pre, during and post performance.

platformireland.ie received an astonishing response worldwide to the live-stream of Wide Open Opera’s Tristan und Isolde on the opening night, says Jessica Fuller, Director, platformireland.ie.

"This five-star production represents the very best of Irish arts and culture. Due to the phenomenal response to the Wide Open Opera production at the Bord Gais Energy Theatre, as part of the Dublin Theatre Festival, platformireland.ie has decided to re-stream the opera beyond the Dublin Theatre Festival for one month until the 12th November.”

The performance of Tristan und Isolde is a mammoth undertaking- a team of 200 people, led by highly talented singers from Ireland, Sweden, Canada and Austria and the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra, says Fergus Sheil, Founder and Artistic Director, Wide Open Opera.
