The Power of Performance: From Impulse to Action

The Power of Performance: From Impulse to Action

Wednesday, 21st March 2012

7pm, Black Box Theatre, IT Sligo

This event / performance by the performing arts students of IT Sligo will challenge your perceptions on verbal and non-verbal communications.

Organisations and individuals struggle with communication. We strive to improve our communication skills especially those directly involved with sales. The power of performance will help you understand the emotional engagement between the actor and audience - providing insights on how to make your communication more engaging and effective.

This showcase is the culmination of the student’s skill based exploration of solo and partner focused performance. The objective is to prepare the actors for the world of auditions and the challenges of an ever changing workplace. Openness, flexibility and risk taking are the qualities which typify a responsive, employable actor. Physical stamina, vocal control and the ability to adapt to all kinds of texts, external stimuli and settings.

This performance will also run for an invited audience of industry professionals in Bewley’s Café Theater in late March of this year.
