A Kind of Alaska by Harold Pinter, is directed by Hazel Maloney, and features well-known local actors Muireann Toibin, Peter Milne and Siobhan Dooney. This one-act play is a psychological exploration of the passage of time and the transience of life. Inspired by the novel Awakenings by Oliver Sacks, it explores the epidemic of "encephalitis lethargica" or "sleeping sickness" and its profound effects not only on its victims but also on those who cared for them.
