Sligo winner of Irish Writers Centre's National Mentoring Programme

The Sligo Arts Service, Sligo County Council and the Irish Writers Centre's National Mentoring Programme would like to announce the awarded Sligo writer of this year’s mentoring programme is Miriam Needham, a writer and theatre artist. Her work was highly commended by Donal Ryan as part of the Cúirt New Writing Prize 2023, and she was recently announced as a runner-up in the Dingle Lit Short Story Competition 2024. She recently completed the Stinging Fly Six Month Fiction workshop with Sean O’Reilly. During her time as Artist-in-Residence at the Hawk’s Well Theatre, she has written four plays, two of which were produced and one which toured nationally, as well as delivering a variety of creative workshops with local community groups.
