STAGEWISE, A POTENTIALLY EXCITING OPPORTUNITY FOR YOUNG PEOPLE
Stagewise is a residential performing arts course ideal for young people aged 12-18 who have an interest in the performing arts. Held annually in July at the King’s Hospital School in Dublin, Stagewise provides a unique opportunity for young people to develop a range of performance skills including acting, dancing, singing, comedy, mime, and improvisation. In addition, participants also learn to develop their confidence, creativity and communication skills making the overall experience a valuable and lasting one.
Over the years we have worked hard to earn our good reputation, part of which lies in our ability to secure the best of national and international theatre professionals to tutor on Stagewise, and this year is no different with Rowan Tolley (Mime), Mitch Mitchelson (Comedy & Acting), Robert Hyman (Musical Theatre) and Fiona Thompson (Dance) on board. We’re proud to be able to offer access to top class theatre professionals in an informal, secure and fun environment making Stagewise a truly rare opportunity for young people.
Up until now Stagewise has been relatively unknown to the greater Irish public, promoted mostly through word-of-mouth by former students and parents alike. It is this aspect that we would greatly appreciate your assistance in informing young people across the country. I’ve attached this year’s poster for reference. Please let me know if you would like me to send you more of these along with flyers to pass on to young people in your area who may be interested. I am also attaching a brief description of Stagewise and would be grateful if you could include in your newsletters and e-bulletins.
Finally, as a side consideration, we have in the past run partnerships with various organisations whereby scholarships were awarded to individuals to attend Stagewise. If you feel this would be an opportunity that your office would be interested in through your local youth theatres, youth groups etc please let us know and we can discuss further.
If you have any questions or need anything else from me please do not hesitate to get in touch on 087 6829729or log on to www.stagewise.ie
