Those Nervous Animals

Those Nervous Animals were formed by Eddie Lee, Barry Brennan, Cathal Hayden and Pádraig Meehan in 1982. They were a minor success for a time on the national scene, performing on the Chris De Burgh and Moving Hearts tours and doing a memorable set at ‘Self-Aid’. The band released 6 singles, The Business Enterprise (My Friend John), Just What the Sucker Wanted, How Does the Shopper Feel and Damian being among them. Those Nervous Animals mini album, Hyperspace, made the Irish charts. The band split up in 1988 but returned for a tour and single Rocket Ship in 1994. Since then the Animals still make occasional outings; band members all pursue other interests these days and play with different groups. TNA recently performed in the Olympia Theatre in a benefit for the Children’s Hospital. In 2003 they recorded a song called Polar Bear, which is featured on the Simpatico album (available on the Dervish website) in honour of the late Finn Corrigan, sound engineer.
